About

I am a freelance illustrator specializing in fantasy book covers.

After various jobs in the computer games industry I now fully concentrate on my passion of illustrating book covers for clients like Heyne/Random House, Subterranean Press, Future Publishing and various self-publishers. I’m a huge book nerd and I love to get sucked into fantasy worlds, that’s where my main inspiration comes from.

I really like working on book covers for (urban) fantasy novels as well as steampunk, cyberpunk and young adult books. My work is very character focused and is included in the art annual “Spectrum 26 - The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art”. I always strive to convey a strong mood and expression and I also love dramatic lighting.

I give portrait drawing and digital painting workshops at the SAE Institute in Europe, contribute workshops to ImagineFX magazine and mentor beginner artists.

In my free time I love to read, play board games with friends and do hip hop and Zumba dancing.
