I am a freelance fantasy illustrator based in Germany. After graduating with a BA in Media Production I went freelance as a digital painter in 2011 and have been creating artwork for fantasy books and games ever since. My clients include Imagine FX Magazine, Heyne/Random House, Subterranean Press, Crytek and various self-publishers (see below).
I’m a huge book nerd and I love to get sucked into fantasy worlds, that’s where my main inspiration comes from. My work is very character focused and I could stare at images with a great lighting scheme all day.
I mainly work digitally, but also experiment with other media for example in my “inktober“ series which you can find in my shop.
I also love teaching! I give portrait drawing and digital painting workshops at the SAE Institute in Germany, contributed workshops to the ImagineFX magazine and give private lessons to aspiring artists.
In my free time I love to read urban fantasy books, play video games or enjoy a casual round of Magic: The Gathering. Once a week I do something completely unrelated and attend a Zumba dancing class.
